I started teaching seminars during my PhD over six years ago and continuously expanded my research portfolio ever since. One of the central teaching goals in academia is to enable students to critical scientific thinking and develop themselves from „consuming to producing“ knowledge. That`s why my seminars focus on teaching research methods and how these correspond with social theory in order to develop and empirically explore their own research ideas.
As part of my current position at the Goethe University Frankfurt, I mostly teach university classes (B.A. and M.A. level) focused on quantitative methods and research design to social science students. Furthermore, I teach a variety of theory seminars concerned with social exclusion/loneliness and political sociology. My teaching portfolio spans several years and uses diverse educational formats such as flipped classroom concepts, discussion formats as well as practice sessions. Please note that some of the syllabi listed below are older versions, and their content develops continuously.
Seminar 1: Political populism: a introduction
Seminar 2: Introduction into multivariate data analysis using STATA
Seminar 3:Quantitative Survey Design
Seminar 4: Research design in the digital age
Seminar 5: Research ethics – between theory and practical application
Seminar 6: Interdisciplinary perspectives on the loneliness
